Recap of the Week:
This past week was a short one due to some viruses that have been going around. I hope everyone's feeling better. We focused on Dr. Seuss and had fun with the different themed days. We read: "The Cat in the Hat", "Put Me in the Zoo", "Green Eggs and Ham", "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" and "Fox in Socks". We drew the Cat in the Hat and made a Cat in the Hat from a paper plate. We also designed a pair of silly socks and graphed rainbow goldfish. We started to work on the letter R. We came up with a list of words beginning with R. The children colored and cut out rockets. We'll add their picture to the rocket. They'll then glue it to a piece of black construction paper and decorate the outer space.
In Religion we read the story of the loaves and the fish. We talked about gifts/ things that remind us of God's love.

This Coming Week:
This week we'll continue to focus on the letter R. The children will complete four pages in their letter book. The rest will be sent home for homework. We'll finish our rockets that we started last week. We'll make robots from pieces of foam covered in aluminum foil. The children will decorate their robots with googly eyes, pompoms, pipe cleaners, paper clips and more. We'll start some Saint Patrick's day crafts. In Religion we'll read the story: "Justin and his First Holy Communion".We'll talk about how Communion is a sign of God's love for us.

Things to work on a home:

- letter and number recognition ( up to 10)
- zipping their coats
- writing their name with an uppercase letter for the first letter and lowercase for the rest
Thank you!!!
