Recap of the Week:

This past week we focused on the letter T. We made a tiger letter booklet. We completed four pages in school and sent the rest home. We came up with a list of words beginning with the letter T. Thank you for sending in all the magazine clippings for our chart.
We read lots of Thanksgiving books and continued to sing some Thanksgiving songs we've been learning. We made turkeys from shapes of construction paper. We also made Indian corn. The children cut the corn from construction paper and glued on crumpled pieces of tissue paper for kernels. In Religion we talked about how we can care for God's creation. In our unit "Ready for School" we reviewed the terms: more, less and the same.
We had a tornado drill this week. We practiced what we'd do in case of a tornado.

This Coming Week:
This week we'll focus on the letter I. The children will complete two pages in their letter booklet and the rest will be sent home for homework. Please send in clippings from magazines, newspapers, cereal boxes, etc.to add to our chart. We'll practice forming upper and lowercase I using the stamp and see screens from our Handwriting without Tears curriculum. We'll read about good Thanksgiving manners in our Scholastic weekly reader. In Religion we'll talk about being grateful for the gifts God has given us. We'll make place mats for our Thanksgiving feast next week. We'll also make Native
Americans from brown paper bags.
