- This week our school will remember the many schools in mission lands that need our prayers and sacrifices. Most classes will be saying a decade of the rosary each day this week for the missionary children that are less fortunate. By the end of the week, most classes will have completed the entire rosary. In Pre-K we won't be praying a decade of the rosary every day however we'll remember the mission schools in our daily prayer intentions. Since there are 60 beads on the rosary, we're asking each child to donate 60 cents. Thank you for your generosity!

- An Option C email was sent out last week regarding a quick check-in survey. You play an important role in the success of our school and students and we value your feedback. The survey should only take 5-10 minutes and your answers are anonymous. Please submit the survey prior to Wednesday, February 5th. A link to the survey can be found in the newsletter. Thank you!

Recap of the Week:
This past week we talked about the letter G. We glued a gumball machine to the cover of our letter book and completed four pages to improve letter recognition. We practiced writing upper and lowercase G in our HWT workbooks. We also came up with a list of words beginning with G. Thank you for sending in all the magazine clippings for the back of our chart. In Religion we read the story of Jesus in the temple. We talked about things that the Holy Family may have done together. We then discussed things we like to do with our families. In our Big Day for Pre-K unit we read: "A Good Night Walk". Before reading, we talked about noises we may hear in our neighborhood at night. Our story words were: calm, chattering, hum and settle. After reading, we made a list of animals that stay awake at night. We also read: "Mama Zooms". After reading, we talked about how ramps can be helpful. We made winter hats. The children colored the hat, cut it out and added cotton balls.

This Coming Week:
This week we'll be focusing on the letter S. The children will glue a seal to the cover of their letter book and complete four pages to improve letter recognition. The rest will be sent home for homework. Please send in words or pictures beginning with the letter S for the back of our chart. We'll use the Handwriting without Tears method of wet, dry, try to practice writing letter S. In Religion we'll talk about our families. We'll read: "A Family's Love" and recall details from the story. We'll discuss things we can do at home to show love for our family.
In our Big Day for Pre-K unit we'll continue to talk about ramps. We'll begin building ramps in small groups.
We'll also make a snowy owl and start some Valentine's day crafts.
