- I hope you and your families had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all the generous gifts.

- We are in need of Clorox wipes and paper towels. If you could send in one or the other with your child, it would be greatly appreciated.

- Please send your child with a winter coat, a hat and gloves. We try to go out everyday even if it's just for a few minutes.

- Please make sure everything your child brings in is labeled. I have a couple maroon sweatshirts without names. If your child is missing a sweatshirt, please let me know. Thank you!

- The SSJ logo store has long sleeve t-shirts that Pre-K may wear instead of the school uniform t-shirt or sweatshirt. The store can be accessed through the school website. If you have any questions, please contact Regina Donohue at ssjlogowear@gmail.com

- Just a reminder: there is no morning Cares when the school has a two hour delay. Pre-K children with siblings may be dropped off at the Cavanaugh Hall doors beginning at 10:10. Pre-K children without siblings in grades K-8 should be dropped off at the lower lobby doors beginning at 10:25. Thank you!

- Wednesday is Mission Wednesday. The money we collect is donated to the Missionary Childhood Association.  The purpose is to encourage all children to be aware of the needs of children living in mission diocese throughout the world and support them both spiritually and sacrificially. Monies raised are directed towards self-help programs involving the building of schools, assistance with health and nutrition programs and medications, school fees, and teaching and learning resources. Thank you for your generosity.

- Reminder: There is no school on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.

This Coming Week:

This week we'll be focusing on the letter O. A letter book will be coming home at some point this week. The children can finish it and bring it back in for a sticker. Please send in words or pictures beginning with letter O to glue to the back of our chart. We'll practice writing upper and lowercase O in our HWT workbooks.
We'll read about how ice castles are made in our Weekly Reader. We'll also watch a video on what happens when water freezes.
In Religion we'll read the story of Noah's Ark. We'll talk about the meaning of the word promise and recall the promise God made with Noah.
We'll also work on some Winter crafts/activities. The children will make a name snowman and a pair of mittens. They'll practice number recognition by placing the correct amount of buttons on each numbered snowman.
