Recap of the Week:
This past week was busy with all the Catholic Schools Week activities. We had fun visiting the book fair, watching the Talent show and learning about the 8th grade Science fair projects.
We focused on the letter S this week. The children glued a seal to the front cover of their letter book and completed four pages to improve letter recognition. The rest was sent home for homework. In Religion we read the story: "A Family's Love" and talked about ways we can show love for our family. We made love bugs from construction paper and painted snowy owls.

This Coming Week:
This coming week is the first week of February. This month the sensory table will be filled with red rice, heart gems, heart boxes, mini erasers, handy scoopers and tweezers. In the art center the children will have the opportunity to make their own Valentine's day cards/ pictures.
We'll be focusing on the letter J this week. The children will complete two pages in their letter book. The rest will be sent home for homework. We'll practice forming letter J with play doh during centers. We'll read about being a good friend in our Scholastic weekly reader. In Religion we'll read the bible story: "New Friends of Jesus" and talk about how we can live as a friend of Jesus.
Due to all the activities last week we didn't get to start building our ramps. My hope is that this week we'll have the time to start building ramps in small groups. We'll also be painting hearts at the easel.
